A Bridge between Cultures: Elite Center hosts the Ambassadors of Bangladesh and Kazakhstan
The Ambassador of Bangladesh, the Air Vice Marshal Javed Tanveer Khan, and the Ambassador of Kazakhstan, Dr. Rasul Jumali and his wife, visited
the Elite Center for Culture and Education in Tripoli, where they were warmly welcome by the president of the center, Dr. Imane Dernaika Al-Kamali, Mr. Amer Al-Kamali, and some friends of the center.
The visit came after the opening ceremony of the activities of “Tripoli, Capital of Arab Culture for the Year 2024”, which was held at the President Rashid Karami International Exhibition.
Jumali:
The Kazakh ambassador congratulated the president of the center “ Dernaika” for crowning Tripoli the capital of Arab culture for the year 2024, expressing his love for this city, which has a long history. He spoke about “the Mamluk era, which left a deep imprint on Tripoli, through its many urban and cultural landmarks that bear witness to that prosperous golden era”.
The Kazakh Ambassador expressed his great admiration for the cultural activities carried out by the Elite Center, praising Mrs. Dernaika’s pioneering and inspiring role in this field, especially after her distinguished participation in the 2022 Conference of Leaders of Traditional and World Religions. Ambassador Jumali also expressed his desire to enhance cooperation with the Center in various fields.
Khan
For his part, His Excellency the Ambassador of Bangladesh presented to Elite Library a generous gift, a collection of books about Bangladesh written in English, covering various aspects of life in Bangladesh, including literature, environment, architecture and history, and promised to provide the library with more books.
His Excellency also praised Dernaika’s distinguished efforts in the field of culture, education and development, describing the center as a “cultural beacon in Tripoli,” stressing his desire to build new ties between his embassy and the Elite Center, the thing that enhances understanding and paves the way for future cooperation at all levels.
Dernaika
In turn, Dernaika thanked the ambassadors for their visit, considering that this visit is “a celebration of the importance of cultural exchange, and a testimony to the power of diplomacy in crossing borders and weaving ties between peoples and nations.”
She also confirmed that the center, since its establishment in 2018, “works as a bridge between all cultures,” and expressed her pride and pleasure in cooperating with both the embassies of Bangladesh and Kazakhstan, which are very good friends to Lebanon.
Dernaika also thanked the Ambassador of Bangladesh for his generous gift, which will be available to the friends and visitors of Elite Center.
In conclusion, Dernaika and Mr. Kamali invited the ambassadors to a lunch held in their honor.
